Brunei Government Scholarships Bachelor’s Master’s And PhD

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs is pleased to invite applications for the Government of Brunei Darussalam Scholarship under the above Scholarship Award Scheme for the 2021/2022 academic session.

The scholarship in Brunei award provides applicants with the opportunity to undertake Diploma, Undergraduate Degree and Postgraduate Master’s Degree at any one of the following institutions of higher education.

Details about the Brunei Government:

Host country: Sultanate of Brunei.
Level of study: Diploma, Bachelor’s, And Master’s degree in postgraduate studies, PhD.
Host University: Universities of the Sultanate of Brunei.
Application deadline: February 15, 2021.

The scholarship covers tuition fees:

Including admission, examination, registration and orientation fees for the duration of the program.

The scholarship also covers:

A business class airline ticket to Brunei Darussalam, and return to the applicant’s home country after completing the program.
A monthly stipend of 500 Brunei dollars.
A monthly meal allowance of 150 Brunei dollars.
An annual book allowance of 600 Brunei dollars.
Secure accommodation in the designated university accommodation.
Comprehensive insurance coverage for the entire duration of the scholarship.

Note. The scholarship recipient is required to obtain additional insurance prior to traveling to Brunei Darussalam and for the entire duration of the scholarship at his own expense.

The grant also covers the expenses of baggage allowed for the shipment of the grantee’s personal items to his country of origin after the completion of the program, within a maximum of:

Brunei $ 250 for a country within the ASEAN region.
Brunei $ 500 to a country outside the ASEAN region.

Conditions for applying Scholarship:

Eligible Countries: (United Arab Emirates, Bahrain, Djibouti, Algeria, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Comoros, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Morocco, Mauritania, Oman, Palestine, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Tunisia)

The applicant must be a citizen of the Association of Asian Nations (ASEAN), the Commonwealth or the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
The applicant must be medically fit to apply for scholarships and study in Brunei Darussalam.
The age of applicant for the diploma and bachelor’s scholarship must be between 18-25 years old.
The age of applicant for graduate studies masters programs should not exceed 35 years.
The applicant should not be a resident of Brunei.
This scholarship may not be taken in conjunction with any other scholarship.
The scholarship recipient is not encouraged to bring any family members with him.
The scholarship recipient is not permitted to undertake any paid work.
After end of the program, the scholarship recipient should leave Brunei Darussalam immediately.

How to apply for the Scholarship?

Application forms can be downloaded from here.
Application forms must be completed and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs or the National Scholarship Coordination Center in the applicant’s country.
Applicants are also required to submit a security clearance statement from their National Security.

Applicants to the University of Brunei Darussalam must also complete an online application through https://apply.ubd.edu.bn/orbeon/uis-welcome/
The applicant may be required to attend an interview at the location (s) specified by the institutions providing the programs, and to sit for a written examination to assess the applicant’s proficiency in English / Malaysian / Arabic (where applicable).
