Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue postgraduate academic studies in Malaysia.

This scholarship aims to support Malaysian Government’s effort to attract, motivate and retain talented human capital from abroad.

Talented international students with excellent academic records and outstanding co-curricular backgrounds are welcomed to apply for this scholarship, hence further their studies in Malaysian public universities and selected private Higher Learning Institutions at postgraduate level.

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP):

The Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) was established in 1980 as Malaysia’s commitment to South-South Cooperation through the sharing of Malaysia’s development experiences and expertise with other developing countries.

• To encourage and promote South-South Cooperation.
• To encourage and promote technical cooperation within developing countries.

Level of study of Malaysia International Scholarship:

Master degree program in one of the following universities in Malaysia.

Areas of Study of Malaysia International Scholarship:

Priority will be given to the following areas of study:

• Economics and Banking.
• Business Management.
• Science and Technology (not including nursing, medicine, clinical pharmacy).
• International Relations and Diplomacy.
• Public Policy and Governance.
• Agriculture and Livestock.
• Social Science.

Applicants may choose any related course within the areas mentioned above.

Eligibility Criteria of Malaysia International Scholarship:

Malaysian Technical Cooperation Program (MTCP) Scholarship applicants must comply with the following criteria:

• Not more than 45 years old at the time of application.
• For Master’s Degree Program, applicants should obtain a minimum of Second Class Upper (Honors) or a minimum CGPA of 3.0 at Undergraduate Degree level.

Proof of English Language Proficiency:

• Scanned copy of the original proof of English Language Proficiency such as IELTS or TOEFL.
• Applicants obtaining Degrees with English as medium of instructions.
• Has an excellent level of health certified by a doctor/physician.
• Scholars must undertake full-time study for postgraduate programs at the selected Higher Learning Institutions.
• Applications are only open to candidates who have received offer letters from universities in Malaysia but have not yet started their studies.

Selection Criteria of Malaysia International Scholarship:

• Applications will be considered according to the following selection criteria:
• High-level academic achievement.
• Excellent communication, writing and reading skills in English Language.

Terms and Condition of Malaysia International Scholarship:

• Scholars must undertake full-time study for postgraduate Master’s Degree Programs at the selected Higher Learning Institutions.
• Scholars must not change their program during scholarship.
• Scholars must follow the approved programs and abide by the university’s rules, regulations and codes of conduct.
• Any suspension from the university will result in immediate suspension of award.
• Monthly allowances are not payable during suspension.
• It is the responsibility of successful candidates to apply and meet the requirements for the issuing of an appropriate entry visa including medical examination.
• Scholars must maintain satisfactory progress and good standing as stipulated by their host university or the scholarship will be withdrawn.
• The scholarships are tenable in Malaysian Universities and research must be carried out in Malaysia.
• Scholars are not allowed to take any paid employment during scholarship.

How to Apply of Malaysia International Scholarship?

All applications must be submitted through our online application system via the link https://biasiswa.mohe.gov.my/INTER/

• All the documents below are COMPULSORY and to be UPLOADED via online application (scanned and save as in PDF format).
• Application form.
• A certified copy of Passport as evidence of nationality (minimum of 6 month’s validity).
• A certified copy of Academic Transcript.
• Record of all the courses taken throughout the degree program must be reflected in the academic transcripts.
• Applicants must submit transcripts of their undergraduate studies.
• Applicants must submit an official document.
• A certified copy of English Language Proficiency tests (TOEFL or IELTS).
• Letter of Recommendation from two (2) referees.
• Endorsement form MTCP Scholarship.
• Admission offer letter from Malaysian Universities.
• Curriculum Vitae.
• Medical examination form.
