Each year WMI provides support to students as they pursue various educational objectives. Support is provided for post-secondary school (university, polytechnic, trade school).
Financial support primarily covers tuition, school fees, and related expenses including books and supplies. On Their part, selected applicants and Beneficiaries should play their role throughout and after benefiting from the scholarship, as indicated below.
Applications must be received by March 1 of each year to be considered for the following academic year. WMI Scholars are selected through an in-depth multi-step review process.
The selected WMI Scholars will be emailed on August 1. Their names will also be published on our website homepage and the WMI Facebook page. Those who are not selected will also be notified after August 1.

Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarship Eligibility
To apply, you must fulfill the following application conditions:
- You must have completed secondary education, with good to excellent grades
- All applicants must be 35 years so age or under by the date of March 1, 2024
- Eligible applicants are those who have demonstrated passion and commitment to giving back to their community through volunteering
- Candidates will be studying in their home countries or any other country in the developing world
- You must be applying to pursue or are pursuing your first bachelor’s degree or diploma at a higher institution in a developing country
- The undergraduate program you are enrolled in must have the ability to benefit the community and/or contribute to the continued growth and advancement of your country and community
- You must have plans to live and work in or your own country after graduation to contribute to its development

- Clear personal photo.
- Essay (topic is stated on the application form).

How to apply for Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI) Scholarship
There are two ways to apply: Online, or by mailing in a completed application packet to the WMI office.
- Applying Online: You will be redirected to a portal where you will be asked to create a free account (username and password), fill out the information, and upload documents.
- MAIL-IN: You will need to print the 2023 application form (available December 1, 2023), and it is your responsibility to complete it and attach all required supporting documents before sending it to us.
