Wells Mountain Initiative (WMI), fosters social change at the local level by building a global network of grassroots leaders who are catalyzing community transformation across 47 developing countries.

Targeted country:

The scholarships are targeted the developing country and Arabian countries Egypt, Syria, Iraq, Palestine, Jordan, Lebanon, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco, Sudan, Libya, Oman, Yemen, Somalia, Djibouti, Mauritania, Comoros, and other countries that are not from the countries of the Middle East and North Africa.

Host University / Institute:

Any university in your home country or in another developing country.

Funding provided in the scholarship:

  • The average award amount is $ 1,500 – $ 3,000 annually.
  • It is provided throughout the university education period of the recipient.
  • Scholarships can be used to cover tuition fees, books, materials and other related costs (room rent and meals.

Specializations available in the scholarship:

Bachelor’s degree in any field of study, however applications are encouraged from those interested in pursuing degrees that will better help their communities such as:

Medicine, health sciences, community development, law, education, social work, business, information technology, agriculture, and engineering.

Eligibility criteria for the scholarship:

  • Will be studying in his or her country or another country in the developing world.
  • Has demonstrated his commitment to giving back and has volunteered prior to applying.
  • Successfully completed a secondary education, with good to excellent grades.
  • Will be enroll in a program of study that will benefit the community.
  • Plans to live and work in his or her own country after graduation.
  • May have some other funds available for his education.
  • Is pursuing his or her first bachelor’s degree or diploma.
  • Is 35 or under on March 1, 2021.

Please remember:

Scholars planning to study in the United States, Canada, Australia, UK or Western Europe will not qualify for a WMI Scholarship.

Required documents for scholarships:

  • Official grading key to interpret secondary school grades.
  • Official transcript of grades from secondary school.
  • Essay (topic is stated on application form).
  • Official results from your national exam.
  • Two recommendation letters.
  • Personal essay statement.
  • 2021 application form.
  • Clear personal photo.

How to Apply?

There are two ways to apply for these scholarships:

The First one you can complete the online application with needed documents and submit it before 1 march 2021 the last day for receiving the scholarships applicants.

The second way for applying to this bachelor scholarship is by sending the application form of the scholarship printed and completed with all documents that’s needed in the scholarship to the well mountains foundation via Mail In. Note application through Email will not be considered.

Tips for Becoming a Competitive Applicant:

The following are suggestions to enhance your application:

  • Record all of your service activities (dates, activities, time spent, photographs, etc.)
  • Collect your secondary school transcript, national exam results.
  • Request two letters of recommendation on official stationery from two people who know you professionally.
  • Have all of your documents translated into English.

No matter what you may be told there are NO FEES required to submit a scholarship application to the Wells Mountain Initiative! You only need to submit a complete application through our website, by our one deadline each year of March 1.
